Taiwan-based design brand Studio Smoll announces that its signature product, P+L, has been honored with the 2026 iF Design Award, recognizing the brand’s integrated approach to material application, design thinking, and sustainability. This international distinction not only affirms the product’s design excellence but also marks an important milestone as the brand moves into its next phase.
Since its founding, Studio Smoll has continuously explored the relationship between materials and time, with vegetable-tanned leather as its core medium—expressing the beauty shaped by natural processes and traces of use. As global awareness of environmental issues continues to grow, the brand has also actively engaged in the application and practice of recycled materials, transforming post-consumer plastics into rPET fabrics and extending material life cycles within a closed-loop system.
The award-winning P+L exemplifies this approach, combining vegetable-tanned leather with rPET.
